Jaguar claims the four banger will propel the F-type to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, with a 155-mph top speed. The base F-Type is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 296 horsepower, with a 340-horsepower supercharged V6 optional. Additionally, several different wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches are available.F-Type coupes and convertibles each come in one of five different trims. Jaguar states that its soft top opens and closes in just 12 seconds. It is available in four different colors, including black, gray, red and beige. A 3-layer power soft top with Thinsulate provides thermal and acoustic insulation in convertible models. Beyond that, the F-Type wears elegant aluminum sheet metal. The F-Type features an aggressive front end with air intakes and side vents, with two distinct design elements Jaguar calls "heartlines"-the styling starting points in the F-Type's shape that highlight the car's front fenders and rear haunches. While its 2-seat configuration may lack a certain amount of interior space, the F-Type more than makes up for it with "pace" and "grace," long-time hallmarks of the Jaguar nameplate. Meanwhile, the standard F-Type Coupé has the same V6 with 335bhp, a top speed of 235kph and a 0-100kph time of 5.3 seconds. A torque-vectoring-by-braking system is standard on the R, which helps the car turn by precisely braking inside wheels to counter understeer. It also features the second generation Electronic Active Differential and the Adaptive Dynamics system that optimises damper rates up to 500 times a second. The headline model of the new hard-top sports car is the F-TYPE R Coupé, which boasts 542bhp from its Roots-supercharged 5-litre V8 and will hit 100kph in 4.2 seconds, carrying on to an electronically limited top speed of 300kph.
